Re-Share: Edge of the Rain by Jacques de Villiers

Re-Share: Edge of the Rain by Jacques de Villiers

I feel like I need to re-introduce myself, it’s been so long since I’ve written. I’ve been busy. And tired. And taking some time to figure out just what on earth I am doing here, on this planet, in my family, in the church, my work, and on this blog. What is this really about?

More and more, I am learning that the last thing it’s about is me.
Not to sound pious or altruistic – honestly, I don’t even like the idea – but as it turns out, my life isn’t just about me.

Why am I part of a family? To look after them and love them.
Why am I member of a church? To serve God and others, and spread His love.
Why am I working for a company? For the company’s growth and to earn a living.
Why am I on this earth….? Well, that’s the one I’m still a bit stuck on.

So I’ve been trying to read other people’s stories, people who seem to have figured their own lives out a little more than I have my own. I stumbled across this gem last night. It’s one chapter out of a book called Secrets to Success in the Corporate World, co-written by a group of very cool motivational speakers. This chapter was written by Mr. Jacques de Villiers – I simply have to share it.

Grab a cuppa, and enjoy…
